Updated: Jan 2

We heard today that on 17th October the City of Cockburn received from Landgate a response and assessment of the North Coogee Renaming Proposal. And a report will be presented to Council at the 12th November 2024 Ordinary Council Meeting, which will contain the full details on Landgate’s Response and Assessment of the proposal. The City will consider the response and assessment when preparing the report to Council.

The proposal has NOT been supported by Landgate. Some of the community will be disappointed by this decision and some will be pleased. We won’t know the reasons for Landgate’s decision until CoC have had the opportunity to review the assessment and present to Council.

We won't know the reasons behind the Landgate decision until early November, when the report will be presented to Council. Some people who are in favour of the split and name change might want to pursue this further after that.
